3 Festive Holiday Cake Toppers

The countdown to Christmas has begun! 25 days left. I’m looking forward to relaxing with friends and family, sipping on hot cocoa, and handing out some seriously awesome gifts. This year I decided to host some people at my house for a holiday party, but I quickly realized I may have bit off more than I can chew… In addition to sending out holiday cards and putting up the Christmas tree, I also have to create an array of delicious desserts for my guests to devour. Since I’m not a professional cake decorator (or baker, for that matter), I decided to invest in a trusty, store-bought cake from Whole Foods and decorate it with fun cake toppers. A Cocktail Party in France to Toast Chanel and Eric

The perfectly manicured hedges, endless trays filled with hors d’oeuvres, and cool breezes that blew across the castle grounds – all set to a perfect soundtrack of clinking champagne glasses and guests’ laughter — left us transfixed in a fairy tale haze. How to Make a Gorgeous Holiday Wreath (and an Austin Workshop!)

I’ve always loved the idea of hosting a wreath making party leading up to the holidays… gathering a group of friends to craft something pretty to decorate their homes, combined with plenty of conversation and cocoa drinking. Well, my friends from Bricolage Floral Studio and ByGeorge just gave me the perfect excuse! I’ll be co-hosting a winter wreath workshop this coming Saturday December 3rd at the Lamar store, with Samantha from Bricolage showing us how to make the most gorgeous wreath that you can take home to deck the halls (or gift to one lucky person on your list!) Chanel’s Pre-Wedding Picnic at a French Chateau

photography by Sarah Falugo; planned by Mon Plus Beau Jour I’ve been looking forward to the holiday season as much as the next girl, don’t get me wrong, but if you asked me what’s really given me butterflies over the last month, it’d have to be my anticipation of this very moment. Finally, this week, Eric and I get to share some of our favorite photos from our destination wedding weekend in France. And it starts today with our epic picnic. On the Saturday before the wedding, we kicked the festivities off with a picnic lunch at Chateau du Grand-Lucé. Thirty of our closest friends and family members had arrived to the property the night before and settled into their accommodations, but for the rest of our 90 guests, this picnic was the first time setting foot on the 75-acre slice of heaven. So when we heard that the editors behind our favorite outdoors ‘zine were throwing a party to celebrate the release of their first book, we did our best to snag an invite. Camp Sunset: A Modern Camper’s Guide to the Great Outdoors is every bit as colorful and inspiring as the magazine, and the amazing outdoor book launch party was all that we hoped it would be and more.
