Armoire Before & After

Consider this post to be my official apology to anyone who wanted to get together last March. It’s not that I didn’t want to hang out, I just had a standing reservation with this handsome fellow every evening and weekend during that time. You see, after weeks of ogling this gorgeous — though at the time, totally neglected — antique armoire on Craigslist, I took on my first ever heavy duty restoration project. Dating back to the 1880′s and made of sturdy quarter-sawn oak, I couldn’t get over the piece’s beautiful, elegant shape. I enlisted the help of a good friend and woodworker, Hunter Wagner, to mentor me through the process, and in the end, couldn’t have been happier with the outcome.
