Pear and Prosecco Sorbet

Pear-Prosecco-Sorbet-93
December 31st! Can you believe it?! It’s been an absolutely fabulous holiday season — one of the best yet, to be sure — but all of the wining, dining and non-stop celebrating has me feeling that I’ve perhaps hit my limit on holiday indulgences. I’m gearing up for some serious clean eating in January, but despite my plans for next month, it’s still December and better yet, it’s New Year’s Eve! There’s one last celebration before vacation comes to a close and we all reset for the year ahead — let’s go out with a bang, shall we?    Keeping with the spirit of New Year’s celebrations, it only seemed fitting to work a little bubbly into my final dessert of 2015. This Pear and Prosecco Sorbet is perfect for your New Year’s menu. Incredibly light and fresh, it’s the ideal ending to a special-occasion meal that may be followed ...read the rest of the story here

If You’re Looking for Some Holiday Reading…

Blue Exotic Rug in living room of Camille Styles
Hope y’all are having a great week and getting to enjoy some extra time off! Can’t believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2015… who’s thinking about their resolutions? If you’re looking for some fun holiday reading, scoop up the January issues of Architectural Digest and Elle Decor — you might spot the full-page ad that Loloi Rugs shot in my living room a few months ago! I love their rugs, so it was a no-brainer (and also, so flattering) when they asked to style their Kensington Rug at my house for their latest ad campaign. The day of the shoot was a blast — it’s always fun to see how things get totally transformed for a photo. What do you guys think of the final look? I was really happy with how it came together and definitely wanted to keep everything the stylists brought in. Alas, when the clock struck midnight 5 ...read the rest of the story here

Rifle Paper Throws a Holiday Party

The Historic Peachtree House in Florida = Amazing Party Venue!
When Rifle Paper throws a holiday party, you want to be on that invite list. Creative power couple Anna and Nathan Bond have spent the last seven years quietly building an illustrated empire, and this season they celebrated with an epic holiday party for their talented team. Based on Anna’s simple, playful illustrations, Rifle Paper’s products have mass appeal: over 4,000 stores globally now stock Rifle products, and the company’s inventory continues to expand — think wallpaper, clothing, and bags. 2015 was a big year for our favorite online paperie (Nathan was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 List) and Anna wanted to close out the year with an amazing celebration for their hard-working staff, partners, and vendors. Lucky for us, Belathée scored an invite and joined 300 guests at the historic Peachtree House for Rifle Paper’s Holiday bash. Trust us, this is one office party you won’t mind tagging along ...see the slideshow here

4 Moves to Get in Shape Before Your Ski Trip

Totally doing this before Aspen!
Editor’s Note: In mid-January I’ll be going on my first ski trip in years. What do I remember most vividly from my last time on the slopes? The out-of-this-world soreness I felt after Day 1. With that in mind, we begged Marnie to share some ways we can prepare our bodies for the intense quad workout our bodies get while skiing, so without further ado… From Marnie: We are getting ready to hit the slopes this season. Barre fitness is an effective way to cross train, strengthen your legs to increase performance, and most importantly prevent injury. You’ll be ready for black diamonds, fresh powder, and maybe this is the year your try cross country in the back woods. That’s our goal! photographed by jessica attie, model and instructor jennifer welch, location: mod fitness in austin, featured image by sweaty betty ...see the slideshow here

A Glamorous Glittering New Years Eve Party

Ideas for a glamorous, glittering New Years Eve party
The glitter dust has barely settled from Christmas, and here we are already gearing up for New Year’s Eve festivities this weekend. Are any of you braving the hosting duties this year? For me, NYE is always a bit last minute, and the key to throwing a festive bash is to focus on a few well-placed detail that will pack a major punch. Here to give us the 4-1-1 on throwing a glamorous fête to ring in 2016 is event stylist Michelle Edgemont. I’ve been a fan of Michelle’s fabulous punchy style for years, so I couldn’t be more excited that she finally launched a shop that features darling table decor and backdrops that reveal her past life as a textile designer in the fashion industry. She styled today’s table as a double date dinner party full of sparkle (don’t miss her own Dash Placemat Pads and the I’ll Drink To That Cocktail Napkins at each setting) ...read the rest of the story here

8 Hair Accessories That are Actually Cool

Black beaded headband -- ALWAYS wear with a center part!
I’ve always been a less-is-more kind of person when it comes to holiday outfits and decor. While I’m all about the occasional sequined skirt, space in an NYC closet is precious and I don’t want to fill mine up my with things I can only use during the holidays. My solution? Finding ways to be festive with my beauty products and accessories instead. Example: Take your favorite black sweater and pair of skinny jeans, add an amazing red lipstick or plum liquid eyeliner and a fab pair of shoes, and no one can accuse you of being a Grinch. Another way to embrace the season in an affordable and low-footprint way: hair accessories. Yes, they’re back—and truly cooler than ever. The key to getting them right this time around is texture. Either wear them with your hair simply air-dried (whether it’s straight, curly, or anywhere in between), or go with ...see the slideshow here

Be Present, Be Merry

snowy wreath with gingham holiday ribbon
Merry Christmas, friends! This time of year always makes me so sentimental about how quickly time passes — maybe it’s because there are so many memories wrapped up in the holidays that I find myself trying to grasp onto every little moment that happens and take a snapshot in my mind, knowing that I’ll turn around and this time will have slipped away. Chanel gave me a copy of Anna Quindlen’s A Short Guide to a Happy Life (which she should have supplemented with a box of kleenex), and I thought you guys would enjoy an excerpt from it that I’ve been rereading this week: Life is made up of moments, small pieces of glittering mica in a long stretch of gray cement. It would be wonderful if they came to us unsummoned, but particularly in lives as busy as the ones most of us lead now, that won’t happen. We have to teach ourselves ...read the rest of the story here
