Need a rockin’ outfit for New Year’s Eve? We’ve got you covered. To ensure you greet 2014 with the most stylish version of you, we’ve compiled our favorite New Year’s Eve outfit ideas for men and women. Whether you’re headed to a cocktail party or out to dance the evening away, take a cue from these looks to make sure you’re dressed in way that warmly welcomes the new year.
This year’s looks center around the theme of “the past and the future.” Since New Year’s Eve represents a look back at the previous year and an optimistic glimpse of what’s to come, these outfits portray that same notion. Read on to learn what inspired each look and how you can achieve it with clothing, shoes and accessories found at Mall of America®.
The Past
Looks from the roaring twenties are having a major moment in modern fashion for men and women. Craft your New Year’s Eve look with inspiration from the Jazz Age by mixing current shapes with vintage details. By incorporating lux elements–like velvet, fur and jewels–you can achieve a polished look that proves history really does repeat itself.

Well, dearest readers, have you been naughty or nice this year? If you’re anything like us, the answer is probably a little of both! (Thankfully, Santa has proven himself to be a forgiving soul…) As much as we anticipate the gift-giving, if there’s one thing we love about Christmas it’s the unique spirit of goodwill that infects our communities during this magical time of year. We joyfully extend those good vibes to you and your loved ones this Christmas. May your holiday be filled with friends, family and much love. ‘Tis the season!

If you’re anything like me, your wallet may be feeling a little slim after all the holiday shopping the last few weeks. Thankfully, there’s no need to splurge on an entire new wardrobe for the upcoming holiday festivities, instead invest in a statement necklace that will turn heads at Christmas, New Year’s Eve and well into 2014. Whether your style is classic, flashy or fun, Mall of America® has a statement necklace for everyone. Consider this one item checked off your shopping list!
Another December, another company holiday party… and they seem to get just a little more fun with every passing year. We got the team together last week to celebrate all the photographers, writers, stylists, designers and other creatives who have made this year the best yet, and of course, we couldn’t resist sharing a few of our favorite moments. Hopefully it’s not too late to pickup a little inspiration for your own holiday gatherings… and at the very least, be sure to mix up a batch of my pomegranate punch on Christmas Eve! Click through for all the festive details shot by Sweet Louise Photography…
Remember the waxed paper snowflake lanterns that donned the table at our snowed-in dinner party? Lots of you went out to your local West Elm stores last month to learn how to make your own, but for those of you who weren’t able to, we promised to share the step-by-step tutorial here! With Christmas in less than a week, this project is simple enough to squeeze in just in time for the big day, and might be just the decorative element that your holiday table needs. Best of all, these lanterns fold flat for easy storage, so you can reuse them year after year! Keep reading for the instructions…
Giving is a lot more fun when you’re excited about the present — and we couldn’t be more excited about the fun gifts we found using the kate spade new york holiday gift guide. The guide makes it easy to search for gifts by price point (which we always appreciate when shopping for so many good girls) and we can’t get over this adorable video showcasing all the glam items available this year. We partnered with kate spade new york and used their guide to find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list — and, of course, we couldn’t help but pick out a few things for ourselves as well. Santa, hope you’re reading…
What if you could capture the most exquisite autumn day and put it in a jar: the blue sky, the crisp air, the scent of crushed leaves, all the sweet, tender lusciousness that’s been ripening on the tree for months and months through the long days of summer? Inside every piece of fruit is contained the story of the day it was picked, perfectly ripe and bursting forth with a story of all the days it hung on the branch or the vine. Stephanie McClenny spends her days telling this story, making small-batch artisanal jam from traditional French recipes and locally-sourced fruit from Texas that tastes like heaven. She joins us today to share tales of inspiration from the jam-making kitchen.

We’ll admit it — we love the holidays as an excuse to show the guys in our lives how much we appreciate them, but what we really love is the chance to exercise a bit of style guidance in the process! (Read: Less The Matrix. More Paul Newman.) Whether it’s for our dads, brothers, or special someone, we’re always looking for gifts that are well-designed, classic, and rugged. So after wading through the manliest corners of the internet, we’ve found thirteen gifts handsome enough to be seen with you. Swoon!
My douglas fir is now officially up (thanks to a very kind helper) and covered in my favorite trimmings: antique silver baby cups, berries, black velvet bows, and plenty of red tartan ribbon! I guess you could say I never got over plaid, Ralph Lauren, and the nineties in general, but it’s my absolute favorite look for the holidays. There’s just something so timeless about tartan — and the fun history behind this family symbol feels especially meaningful at Christmas. Do you have Scots in your family tree? If so, it’s fun to play around with the tartan finder on the House of Tartan website. In the meantime, I’ll be dreaming of a snowy family gathering in Scotland for Christmas. Wouldn’t that be dreamy? Glasgow, here we come…

It’s that time of year again — have you done your Christmas shopping yet? We have, and we are SO excited to announce a week’s worth of amazing giveaways here on the blog! All of you readers must have been awfully good this year, because these gifts are seriously out of this world. We can’t wait to reveal them — starting tomorrow, check the blog first thing every morning this week for your chance to win some seriously good stuff. See you tomorrow!
I should preface this post by saying that (if you didn’t already know): I’m Jewish. But even though I didn’t grow up with a Christmas tree beaming in my living room each holiday season, I’ve trimmed and decorated my fair share, and have been an admiring observer of firs for as long as I can remember. It’s fun for me to imagine what type of tree I would have in an alternate universe: real or fake, big or small, natural or blinged out, modern or heirloom? These are big decisions, people! And I admire you all for making them year after year. If you’ve already got a tree standing tall in your home (or standing short on a tabletop), I’d love to hear how you’ve decked it out… here are ten of my favorites from around the web!
It’s safe to say that while we love all our friends, we love the ones who cook for us even more. Why not show your gratitude and spread a little Christmas cheer with a gift that encourages that wonderful habit? We’ve searched high and low for the best epicurean gifts for that culinary goddess in your life — now, these really are gifts that keep on giving!
The season of gift-giving is in full, sparkling swing! Get the perfect present for every cheery chum, babe in toyland, sweetheart under the mistletoe, happy hostess, festive foodie, woodland beauty or crazy cousin on your list with this season’s MOA™ Holly Jolly Gift Guide. Check off your entire list in one trip to Mall of America®!
We’re grateful for many things, including our wonderful readers. We hope that today finds you sharing good food with good company. Enjoy!
Cheers, the Camille Styles Team

We’ve had a crush on the house-smoked meats and chewy pretzels at Easy Tiger for ages, and the blue plate-inspired, high-end comfort food at 24 Diner is one of our favorite spots in town for breakfast or lunch. When we stumbled into Arro for a visit with Chef Drew Curran on a cold, blustery afternoon last week, though, our fancy turned to love. The space itself is beautiful — somehow managing to be both open and intimate, with warm woods, dim lights, and a cozy patina — but it was the food that ultimately seduced us. Rustic French bistro fare, done with confidence and grace, was exactly what we wanted on such a chilly gray evening…

When Martha Lynn isn’t writing our Pretty Simple column here on the blog, she’s busy running Austin’s premiere salon, Mirror Mirror. She’s a successful business owner, a mom, and just about the cutest person we know. There’s no one we trust more than Martha Lynn to take us from blonde to brunette, long to short, and even give us a bit of love life advice when we’re in the chair! Today we’re excited to learn the secrets of her cheerful, preppy style…

*HOURS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
If there was an Ann Lowe fan club, I’d be a charter member. This creative gal-about-town is so multitalented that you’d almost hate her… if she wasn’t so darn sweet and lovable. She’s an interior designer, prop stylist and culinary artiste, and no doubt has a few other hidden talents of which I’m not even aware. I first met Ann when she was co-owner of a boutique catering company, and a few years later, I now get to work with her on-set as the food stylist for many of the photo shoots for my book. She always nails that effortless, chic-without-trying look that I’m after, so when Ann invited us to peek into a weekend gathering at her family’s river house to see her at-home entertaining style, we jumped at the chance. Take it away, m’dear!
