History-maker: Paula Badosa becomes first women's champion from Spain in epic Indian Wells final

Badosa's win marks the second consecutive time a player has won this event in her first appearance, following Bianca Andreescu, who won it in 2019. Serena Williams is the other player to win this event in her first appearance, in 1999.
